SCHOOL FACILITIES
The De La Salle Zobel School has always been known for its modern and up-to-date facilities that help maximize the students' learning capabilities. Majority of the buildings have been recently renovated in order to keep up with the changing times and provide a better learning environment.
The St. La Salle Building is the main building where the classrooms of the Division 2 and 3 levels (Grade 6 - 4th year HS) are located. It is a 3-story building surrounded with flora and fauna in order to incorporate a green environment to the classroom setting. A typical classroom contains around 35-40 students and has several features such as the Overhead projector (OHP), a desktop computer, and a projection screen. However, recent changes are being made in the classroom to turn it into a PEARL Classroom. This is in line with the recent changes in the education system in the school. Other than the classrooms, the building is also home of various places such as the GS & HS Library, Science Laboratories, the iNook, the e-Classroom, the GS&HS Faculty, Medical and Dental Clinic, and the Deborah Decena Auditorium or DDA. Students are expected to use their respective stairways in the building in order to avoid traffic and instil discipline among the students.
The Angelo King Center of Performing Arts houses the Sylvia P. Lina Theater which has been home to several performances including the school plays, musical concerts, and performance by famous artists outside school. It has been called the "CCP of the South" due to its state of the art facilities and features such as the lights and sounds that are imported all the way from Germany. The theater has a seating capacity of 1,052 with an orchestra and balcony level. There is also a two-storey lobby outside the theater which can be used for holding receptions and cocktails before the start of an event inside the theater. The theater also has an orchestra pit, several dressing rooms and two motorized curtain systems. The school takes pride of this theater due to being the only one of its kind in a high school campus and is not usually found in other high schools in the Philippines. This building also houses several music rooms, art rooms, and a dance studio which is used by students who are part of the school's various performing arts programs.
The Our Lady of the Star Chapel, or OLSTAR for short, is the area for students and employees to communicate with their God through prayer. The chapel is a very sacred place for a moment of peace and reflection. It contains chairs for individuals to sit on for their time in the chapel and both are air conditioned to create a more holy ambiance. The mini-chapel is also provided with soft pillows for a more relaxing experience inside. The cleanliness of the chapels is very well maintained. Property custodians regularly clean up the main chapel to prevent and remove certain things that are not allowed inside. Shoes are not allowed to be brought inside the mini-chapel to maintain the cleanliness of the area. The school shows the importance and the value of religion through these chapels. They have a great significance to the school because they give individuals an opportunity to strengthen their faith and nourish their relationship with God.
The Sports Pavilion, or Pav, as how students usually call it, is one of the structures that the school takes pride on. It used to be called Gym 1 until it was renovated last 2008 in order to add more state-of-the-art athletic facilities. The inside of the Pavilion contains two volleyball courts which can also be used a basketball court. There is also the main basketball court where most of the basketball games are held. At both sides of the basketball court are the bleachers where people can have a good view of the basketball game from below. There is also an oval track located on the second floor of the Pavilion which is usually used by the PE students and varsity players as part of their training. Several offices are also located inside the Pavilion such as the PE Department Faculty and the PA Office. The Pav also has a basement level where the weights room and the ping pong area is located for the students' use.
The St. Mutien Marie Building is where most of the administration's offices are located at. In here can be found the Accounting Office and Registrar's office which is the place to go to when students or other people have concerns regarding payments, tuition fees, student ranking, and other school financial related concerns. The President and Assistant to the Principal's office are also located in the second floor of this building. The Animo EdEx, or the school's bookstore is located in the basement of this building. This is where the students buy the schools supplies they need and even books and school apparel they might be interested in buying. Across the Animo EdEx is the Executive Boardroom where important meetings are usually held. On the first floor is the Flex Hall which can be used for a variety of events and the Multipurpose Hall which can be used for talks and seminars. Other offices in this building include the IDCO, Physical Facilities Office, ISTO and the Administrative Services Office.
The St. Joseph Building is located beside the Canteen and across the Sports Pavilion. It is a small building where the Grade 5 classrooms are located as well as the Home Economics or THELE building.
This building is home to all of the school's Technology, Home Economics and Livelihood Education classes, including Shop, Automotive/Driving for the Seniors, Practical Gardening, Practical Electricity for the Sophomores, Cooking for the Juniors, and Sewing for the Freshmen and Grade School.
The St. Flavius Hall houses the school's main canteen which serves as the place where students eat during their lunch or recess break. The canteen serves a variety of food such sisig, spicy pork, siomai, Japanese dishes and a lot more. The design of the canteen is very modern, not like the cafeterias you see in malls or hospitals. To add some mood, the lights of our canteen is just right not too bright for the students and certainly not too dim. There's a first floor and a second floor. The school canteen has a wide space that can accompany all 2-4 batches. The food stalls are well organized and the employees are very respectful to the customers.
The Br. V. Felix Masson and St. Br. Miguel Halls houses the Junior Prep to Grade 3 levels or the Division 1 students. It holds the facilities needed by the Grade School students such as the classrooms library, amphitheater and the playground. The playground is located in the middle of the building and can easily be said as the favorite place of the grade school students and holds a lot of childhood memories for the upperclassmen. Students from Division 1 are secured and cannot leave the building without the presence of the fetcher or guardian.
The Vaugirard Hall is located near the Division 1 building and Softball field. This is the place where students used to have their recollections, retreat and outreach programs until the OLSTAR Chapel was built. It is a place where students don't go too often due to it being in the other end of the school, far from the main building.
